CultinationaL organizes workshops, courses, cultural holidays and music projects and uses a wide network of skilled artists and performers. The last L of CultinationaL stands for Lot, the initiator.
At the Academy for Expression through Word and Gesture, now called HKU, Lot soon discovered that being an actor or drama teacher would not become her passion. However she did feel the challenge of bringing all those academy talents together and getting them on stage. After years of working in art galleries, Lots organizational talent really started to flourish when working at the Living History Theatre section of the National Maritime Museum. The yearly exhibition in the indoor museum was "translated", for schoolchildren and families, through a play on the VOC ship. Lot, more or less as a producer, provided scriptwriters, directors, costume tailors, dance- and singing teachers, so that a lively theater could be performed several times a day. After the renovation of the National Maritime Museum, the Living History theatre had to make place for technical novelties and Lot started her company CultinationaL. After various projects and having worked at musyQ/ QFactory, in Amsterdam, Lot ended up in the workshop world. Every summer, together with studio Harcigny, werkplaats Thiérache and health center Zentire, CultinationaL organizes, eight holiday weeks with themes as: music (jazz, percussion, singer songwriting, ukulele, salsa) painting, writing, yoga and photography. Many of the participants come back regularly. They are 35+ and often single or with a partner which comes along to enjoy the surroundings.
2025 will be the Anniversary year with 10 years successful holiday courses & workshops in France, Germany & the Netherlands ánd sometimes West Africa!!
